Time: 11:00 - 14:00 CET
Location: Varia (Gouwstraat 3, Rotterdam)
Do you upload sounds, music, playlist or mixes to the internet? Have you tried moving away from big tech music platforms with no satisfactory alternatives? Do you miss making community while listening and sharing?
During this workshop we will take a deep dive into existing online audio platforms, such as Soundcloud, Spotify and Bandcamp. Corporate big tech platforms are bad, but what do we miss? What do we need? What works well about them?
While listening and sharing each other's music or sounds, we wonder how this could live in a digital space. We imagine an online community of enjoying each others sound files and sharing the process of their making. A community for listening to each other through tender ears and curiosity.
This workshop is facilitated by Varia members Danny Tirthdas Van Der Kleij and Mitsitron with the support of SocTalk.
Attendance is free. You are encouraged to bring sounds/music that we could listen together. If you would like to join this workshop, please email info@varia.zone, including your dietary restrictions for lunch.
